Eating Disorders
What are they? How can we be of help?
Becoming aware of emotional eating patterns
and knowing you are not alone is a step in
the right direction. Goal setting and
accountability are very important. Learning what foods are healthy and trusting in your nutritionist is key. |

- Anorexia - a disorder which is manifested by extreme fear of becoming obese and an aversion to food. This often results in life-threatening weight loss, accompanied by a disturbance in body image, hyperactivity, and amenorrhea.
- Bulimia - a chronic disorder involving repeated and secretive episodic bouts of eating characterized by uncontrolled rapid ingestion of large quantities of food over a short period of time (binge eating). If you think you or a friend have anorexia or bulimia, please be sure to
e-mail us as soon as possible. The longer these conditions go untreated, the more difficult the recovery.
